How Soon is Now? Skin Fair Snow Rabbit Preview

That’s kind of the question I’ve been asking for months. Ever since I saw the WIP (work in progress) video of the Snow Rabbit mesh hybrid avatar. I’m going to try to explain it, but you really have to pop in to Skin Fair this weekend and see to believe!

Basically Nea is a beautiful mesh head that has an “animated” face. She smiles, blinks, closes her eyes and all without you having to click buttons to make her do so. Personally, I find the concept extremely amazing and with this first step, I think we are moving ever closer to truly realistic interactive avatars in Second Life. I’m looking forward to see what Snow Rabbit creator Shirousagi Noel does next to improve upon this idea.

Skin Fair Snow Rabbit Expressions

I’ve read and heard some things that I agree could be improved upon this idea: more subtle shading under the chin, better blending into the base skin at the neck, and the ability to change facial shadowing, nose shapes and lips to create a more unique look come to mind. But all in all, I think this is a solid first effort and I am extremely excited for the future of these avatars!

Sometimes it’s nice to walk around SL and experience the simple things in life. My friend Kae’s sim It Starts With a Smile allows you to do just that. Kae (and I’m guessing that craxy Maxxster had something to do with it too) put an incredible amount of thought into each and every detail and the position of each adorable prop. It is now one of my favorite places in SL. Thank you for creating it!

I’ve been slightly off balance lately with a lot going on in my real life but I think things will be evening out soon. Looks like I’m a little off balance in my Second Life too, huh?

Sorry if you are sick of me gushing over Jada’s work, but she is one of my favorites and there hasn’t been an outfit of hers in forever that I haven’t just adored.  My necklace is from Maxi Gossamer. I’m not sure if you know this or not, but Maxi is selling some of her designs in RL as well! Check out the post on her website!

So for the past 3 weeks or so I have been having the most HORRIBLE time trying to get a decent photograph in SL. I don’t know what happened but all of a sudden, windlights were borked (i.e. my skies looked like checkerboards), shadows were completely messed up and nothing was turning out right. So, I apologize for taking so long in between posts but I didn’t want to present any cool stuff if it looked like crap. Forgive?

Today I’ve got quite a few cute things to show ya. First I want to make sure I mention the adorable sleeveless headphone t-shirt I’m wearing. It’s from Attic and is available for fi.friday tomorrow! They’ve got a bunch of different designs but this was my favorite because… you know… PINK! The headphones were a gift on Second Life Marketplace from Apogee Audio. Not bad for free huh? The gorgeously detailed Tiger Lily ring is from Maxi Gossamer for this round of Limited Bizarre starting on January 11th.

Now for a closer look. My oh-so-pretty skin today is the eagerly anticipated Ginerva release from Izzie’s. I know I go on and on about Izzie’s skins, but honestly there isn’t one that I don’t just love! I especially like the lips on this one, which I accentuated with raspberry lipstick.

A new round of Hottie Cooterati’s Zodiac has just started, celebrating all things Sagittarius. According to Astrology Online, Sagittarians are:

Now, back to the goods!  I simply couldn’t resist the call of The Huntress, the Zodiac offering from Hopscotch!

Chandni has made 4 packs of gorgeously unique poses, complete with bow and arrow props. Two Huntress pose packs and two Hunter pose packs because the boys need to have some fun too.

The outfit I’m wearing is Rina from Severed Garden and I have been DYING to have an excuse to buy this ,and I thought it suited the poses perfectly.

My skin is the rare Glam Affair Roza from the last round of Arcade. I remember seeing some other lovely Glam Affair fantasy skins out there somewhere, when I was bopping around from event to event, that could be used to get this look as well.
